Can you eat Starry Blenny?

Blennies are small fish mainly found on the British isle. They are saltwater fish and they live in the sea and don’t always come to shore. These fish are nice aquarium fish and are normally kept in the reef tanks at home. Many people do wonder if they are edible or not. If you are wondering the same, then this article is for you.

Can You eat Starry Blenny? No, They are small and non-edible fish.

Starry Blennies are one of the fish in the Blenny family, just like other Blennies, they are small and could only grow up to 4-5 inches in size and they live in the deep sea, so they are not commonly seen and they couldn’t be eaten too.

It has been scientifically proven that many Blennies have venom which they use as a defense.

The fact is, they may be very poisonous to humans if eaten.

Apart from being venomous, they are very small fish, I mean who will even waste his/her time going to the sea just to fish a tiny fish that is not more than 5 inches in size?.

Can You Eat Blenny Fish?

No, Blennies are not edible fish because they have a high potential of being toxic for human consumption.

They are mainly kept in aquariums just for mere entertainment and decoration and never for commercial purposes because they are not commercial fish and can’t be eaten.

Even if they are edible, who will waste time and resources just to raise a tiny fish of about 6 inches? that did be a total waste of time and money, so they ain’t commercial.
